Bridal Veil and Squaw Peak

We took our kids to Bridal Veil Falls and Squaw Peak today.
They loved it.
Playing in the water at the falls

OW-EE

Ow-EE

3 of the 4 boys in my life have a big "Ow-EE" on their finger. I thought it was a big coincidence that this would all happen at the same time, so I decided to share our experiences the past few days.

First Incidence:
I always hide my razor. My kids know its not a toy. I have told them over and over. Do you think it matters that I have told them countless times? YES, in Hewitt's case. He listens to everything I tell him for the most part and he is easy to scare when it comes to dangerous things. NO, in Linford's case. He is very mischievous and MUST find out for himself "just" how dangerous it is.
He is like this with EVERYTHING.
He saw me hide my razor one day I guess because when I wasn't looking, he carried a stool from the kitchen all the way upstairs and climbed onto the counter and into my cabinet and got my BRAND NEW RAZOR out. He cut his thumb up pretty bad.
He has never bled before. So he couldn't figure out WHY this red stuff kept pouring out of his finger. He'd wipe it and it would show up again. Very annoyed with it all, he came and showed me his frustration with a questioned look on his face.
When I saw ALL the blood, and the HUGE cut, I tried to act like it was no big deal....for Hewitt's sake.
Linford could have cared less.

2nd incidence:
Brandon has had this sore on his finger that he cannot get to go away. IT keeps getting bigger and bigger and it hurts him too. He finally found a concoction to get it to go away. NO, he didn't get into my razors or cut it with the scissors. His story isn't as exciting as the other ones. BUT the sore is supposed to turn black, so that might be interesting...

3d Incidence:
Hewitt wanted to be a big boy and open the sealed pringles all by himself. He's a pretty cautious little boy and generally pretty safe. WELL, today he came up to me screaming. "BLOOD mommy, BLOOD mommy!!!" Histarically SCREAMING. His finger was cut. I asked him what he was doing and I couldn't understand a thing he was saying. I came downstairs to see a chair moved up to my "CUTCO" knives and a big knife on the floor next to the pringles. I bandaged it up and gave him a good talking to.

My cute boys, and Linford's Obsession

My SWEET boys
I have loved having children, obviously....I had 3 of them in 4 years....BUT I never knew it was going to be the way it is. It's so fun and I wouldn't change it FOR ANYTHING. Not to travel, not to have more money, not for alone time, not to have my old "tighter" body back, not for ANYTHING.
I am so thankful for the GOOD times AND the BAD.
It has made my life worth living.
I look at this picture and it just fills my heart with joy.
This is not the reason I am posting these pictures
.

My intention was to show you how obsessed OUR
"Linny"
is with his
"Bobby"
(His Pacifier)

and
"Billy & Cheeto"
(His elephant and monkey)
He will not go anywhere without the three of them.
Not ANYWHERE.
Not even anywhere in the house.

There are times that he'll hide them if he needs his hands for something and that is the worst, cause he forgets where he hides them. Luckily, I have learned his hiding places. I have had to convince him that they don't take the same kind of baths that he does.
He wants them to swim, eat, to watch t.v., play basketball, everything.
It is really sweet, and yet
very stressful and sometimes
annoying.

This is the picture that made me want to do this post.
He came to me the other day, with a
BIG HUGE SMILE
He had gone and found all the "bobby's" in the entire house.
It was like he had found a
POT of GOLD
I just had to laugh. He is so attatched. I thought that Hewitt was bad at this age, and Linny's attatchment is even WORSE.
I think what I have found MORE annoying than ANYTHING though,
is when people TAKE IT AWAY
and say, "ohhhh you don't need this." thinking its funny or something.....
ALL the while he is screaming, crying upset.
I just think its cruel. Why take it away???
So he'll hate you?
He's so sweet, just let him be.

Desitin

Linford
Today I was letting the kids have "free time" while I did my Saturday Cleaning. I can usually count on Hewitt to tell me if Linford is getting into TrOUbLe.
Hewitt came running in a frantic,
"Mom, Mom, Linny got into the desitin AGAIN!!!"
Yes, this has happened more than once, more than twice- actually too many times to count.
It doesn't matter how hard I try to keep it out of reach- he finds it. I usually get mad or bugged and then after I clean him up, I always I wish I would have taken a picture.
Well this time, Hewitt, Linford and I laughed and laughed while we took pictures.
Probably not good, cause now he thinks its funny.
-BUT-
it turned a potentially angry moment into a fun, smiling, laughing one.
The funny thing too, is I didn't clean him off till I was done with cleaning the house an hour or two later and he didn't even care or notice.
It was really cute too, cause Hewitt kept saying,
"Oh Linny, you are just so cute!"
and then they would giggle together.

Happy Birthday Tayden!
One of our best little buddies is turning the big #2!
Josh and Christina are some of our best friends and we are so thankful to have Tayden be such good friends with our little guys. Christina and I are always so impressed with them because they play so well together. We'll always laugh at them, joking that they act just like their daddies. One day when they are at eachothers weddings being eachothers "best-man" they'll have alot of memories, video-footage- and pictures to remember this wonderful time.

We love you Tayden and are so glad you are in our lives!!!
